The Saskatchewan Geological Society’s purpose is to promote the study and practice of the earth sciences and to foster a spirit of scientific research among its members.
Founded in 1951, the Saskatchewan Geological Society (SGS) has a long tradition of advancing the geoscience profession in Saskatchewan. Over the years, SGS has played a crucial role in shaping public policy, providing education and training, outreach and promoting the geosciences within the province. Key milestones in our history include sponsoring the Annual Saskatchewan Open House, Education Outreach initiatives and events and partnering with other prominent geoscience focused organizations in Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan Geological Society (SGS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics in geoscience. We encourage all members to adhere to the Geoscientists Canada Code of Ethics and the APEGS Code of Ethics, which guide responsible and ethical conduct in geoscience practice.
