Saskatchewan Geological Society 2025 Annual Field Trip to the Bay of Fundy Tidal Flats, Nova Scotia.
June 15th-20th, 2025
This year we are going to visit the modern Tidal Flats of the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. Dr. Murray Gingras (Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Alberta, Edmonton) has kindly volunteered to show us the workings of a modern tidal flat. Murray is very well known for his expertise and research in Ichnology and the Tidal Flat Environment. The Bay of Fundy records the world’s largest tidal range. We fly in and out of Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sunday June 15th and depart on Friday June 20.
We are expecting a strong response so don’t hesitate in signing up. You won’t want to miss this one so come and join us in the bright red mud in June. You will need a pair of scuba diving rubber booties as the suction of the mud will remove regular footwear (the kind that areworn with removeable flippers).
